Questions people ask

When does DV-2028 registration open?

The U.S. State Department hasn't announced dates yet. We announce opening day on our Telegram channel and on this website.

Does paying you raise my chance of winning?

No. Selection is random. We make sure your entry is complete and correct so it isn't disqualified.

Do I need a passport?

Yes. Under the 2026 rule, entries need valid passport details and a scan, with a few exceptions. Start your passport now.

What if I give wrong information?

You're responsible for the information you give us. We submit it exactly as you provide it. We aren't responsible if your entry is disqualified because of wrong or missing information you gave.

If our staff make a mistake when entering your information, that is our responsibility, which is why a second staff member checks every entry.

What if registration doesn't open?

Our written refund policy applies to every payment. See the Terms and Refund policy page.

How much does it cost?

Apply early: 899 ETB in total. Reserve a place: 100 ETB now and 899 ETB when registration opens, 999 ETB in total. After registration opens, new applications are 999 ETB.

The $1 U.S. government entry fee is included. There are no other fees.

What's the difference between “Apply early” and “Reserve a place”?

With Apply early you fill the whole form and upload your photo and passport now, and pay once. When registration opens, we work on early applications first.

With Reserve a place you only give your name and phone now. When registration opens you come back, fill the form, and pay the rest.

How do I pay?

Send the money with CBE or Telebirr to the account shown on the payment screen, then type the transaction number and upload a screenshot of the receipt. Our staff check every payment by hand against our account, usually within a few hours during office hours.

How do I check my application?

Open My application and enter your application number (it looks like DV-7K4QX2) and your phone number.

I lost my application number. What can I do?

We can't recover it online, to protect your information. Call 0947 414 172 or message @lenegeTech on Telegram. We'll ask questions only you can answer, such as your birth date and passport number, and give you a new number once we're sure it's you.

Why do you ask for an email?

The official DV form requires an email address. Use one you can open. We only put it on your entry — we never send you email.

Can I use the Ethiopian calendar?

Yes. Choose Ethiopian for any date and we convert it to the Gregorian date the official form needs. You'll see the converted date before you confirm.

Who can see my passport and photos?

Only staff assigned to your case. Payment staff can't see them, and you can't download them from My application either. We delete passport scans and photos after your entry is submitted.

Can you enter me twice to raise my chances?

No. Two entries in the same year get you disqualified. We submit exactly one entry for you, and we never retry if the result is unclear until we've checked.

Are you the U.S. government?

No. Yene DV is a private Ethiopian service. Official entries happen only at dvprogram.state.gov.

How do I contact you?
